Texas Quilt Museum Photos

| May 24, 2012

Thanks to the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild for
inviting me to present to your guild.
The meeting and workshop were loads of fun!

We dropped by the Texas Quilt Museum!

Good news is…I took some photos of the outside mural and garden.

Bad news is…they weren’t open!

If you plan to visit the Texas Quilt Museum,  it is open

It is centrally located (in La Grange) to 5 major cities in Texas.
Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, Houston & San Antonio.

These photo were taken with my iphone and I used the app 360 for the one above.

Since I was only able to catch images on the outside of the building,
you can at least enjoy this creative mural.

There is also a lovely garden area.

If you are planning a trip, I suggest visiting in the morning.

It’s tough to stay outside long during a Texas summer day.

I was hoping to get some photos of the front, but cars were
always parked in the way!

Oh! and…a new quilt shop in going in right next door!

We went up to Monument Hill (a State Park), and
the view was just spectacular. That’s the Colorado River in the background.

Thanks again, Colorado Valley Quilt Guild!

Quilting presentation plus!

Two things Brenham, Tx is noted for… got to experience both!

Thanks so much to the wonderful group of quilters in the
Friendship Quilt Guild for inviting me to present to your group!

Met a lady from Australia visiting friends in Brenham and the guild.
As a last minute thing, she was asked to tell a bit about her guild
and was very humorous in her presentation. We exchanged emails
and I plan to interview her for our newsletter.

Arrived in time to visit Blue Bell Creamery. You know, the ice cream you love!

Not allowed to take photos during the tour, but this is an outside shot.

Took the Quilter’s Travel Companion book and found a quilt shop
way out on a country road.

Lunch on the way home:

DH had brisket and sweet potato fries!

Can’t recall the name of mine, but it had fried chickpeas.

Turtle something?

Carrot cake to go!

New lecture & workshop announced!

| January 14, 2010

Those of you reading this probably already have a blog, but many of our fellow quilters are a bit timid when it comes to setting up a blog. It is in response to this need that I’ve developed a new lecture and workshop to reach those quilters wanting a little help in joining the blogging community.

This is a pic of the website page, “lectures“. When you visit the page, just click on the buttons on the images to watch the movies I’ve made to let you know a little bit about what to expect from the lecture.

Lectures are just the tip of the iceberg, and the true learning comes from the workshops. This pic is from the page “workshops“.

My thoughts from so many years of teaching college students:

Lectures provide teachers an opportunity to share.

Teachers provide students an opportunity to grow.

Students provide teachers an
opportunity to teach.

If you provide the
I’ll share.
