Chemo Caps

| April 12, 2013

In January I decided to make at least one chemo cap each month.
By December I would have 12 made and find somewhere
to donate them.

They are easy to work up and such a small bundle to carry
with you to a dr. waiting room. Every time I would
pull it out of my bag and begin to add rounds
someone would ask what I was making.

It was a nice time to mention they were
going to help someone feel better.

It was a nice time to remind
myself and others
of the need
to help.

Here are my first 13 caps finished, bagged and ready to deliver
to a rural oncology department.

Six chemo caps and counting!

My goal was to make one chemo cap a month (beginning in January), but I’m on a roll…

Have made 6 so far.

Tried out several different patterns and really like the blue one in the lower right front.

I’m going to make a few more using Sarah Arnold’s Divine Hat pattern.
It’s a free download.

Goal for 2013 – One crochet chemo cap each month

| January 6, 2013

With the Christmas gifts out of the way I began thinking I should
be doing more for the community in different ways.

My goal for 2013 is to make at least one
crochet chemo cap per month.

It would be nice to do more than one, but
I believe I can attain the goal of one per month.

I started off following a pattern, but found an error
in the instructions and just started stitching after that.

I think it turned out cute!

Next, I will begin finding a local place to donate them
as a small help in a fight against cancer.

Want to join me in the goal?
