Remember stringing popcorn and making ornaments for the Christmas tree when you were young? Or, helping your children or grandchildren make ornaments? I’ve thought of those times and designed an easy way to make those colorful round balls that hang from the branches and I wanted to share it with you. I have two different designs, but basically the same directions.

You can print the 8 1/2 x 11 page onto card stock and have the children (or you) color them and add glitter or sequins or whatever will make the sparkle. Or, you can work with them with fabric. I’ve given directions on the page for working with fabric or paper. Just hang a ribbon on them and let them dangle from the tree branches.

Think of how proud they will be by making their own ornaments. Save them from year to year to remember the fun you had putting them together.

If you want the ornament files, just visit my pattern website.

For size 8.25” x 8.25”, print and enlarge it at 150%, or size 3.5” x 3.5”, print and reduce it at 63%.

You might enjoy this continuous line-stitching pattern that will fit inside a six-inch block. This pattern is named, Hearts ’n Stars and is from my Americana collection of 15 patriotic themed continuous line-stitching patterns.

Hearts ’n Stars, as well as all 15 of the patterns in the collection, are ideal for quilters using a sewing machine for quilting. Of course, this pattern could certainly be used on a longarm machine or for hand quilting.

This continuous stitching line block measures 5.5” x 5.5” just the size to fit into a 6”x 6” block. I have included centering lines to help with positioning.

If you would like the size 8.25” x 8.25”, print and enlarge it at 150%.

If you would like the size 3.5” x 3.5”, print and reduce it at 63%.

Click HERE to go to the free pattern site.

To view the remaining 14 patterns in the Americana collection visit www.chiseledincloth.com and click on Patterns (for longarm quilters). Scroll down toward the bottom of the page to find Americana and other continuous line stitching patterns for blocks. Each of the patterns in the collection is presented in three sizes.

Each repeat is 10” wide by 3.9” in height and fits nicely on an 8.5” x 11” paper.

At 168% the width would be approximately 16.75” and the height would be approximately 6.5”. This percentage would allow printing on an 11” x 17” paper.

If the sheep would be jumping along horizontal sashing, the reduction of 45% would change the size to approximately 1.75” x 4.5”.

With a little paper, scissors, and tape in no time you’ll be using one of these budget- busting pantos.

Each of these repeats is approximately nine inches in width and five inches in height. Just print them on your printer, tape the ends together (where the repeats touch) and continue to tape until you’ve reached the desired length.

If you would like them larger:

At 170% Dizzy Clovers would be 16.5” x 8.5”. One repeat will fit on a 17” x 11” paper.

At 180% Sprinkles and Southern lights would be 16.25” x 9”. One repeat will fit on a 17” x 11” paper.

If you would like them smaller:

At 60% they would be approximately 6” x 3”. Make two copies this size, cut them and put both of them on one page and print more.
