Mini Videos with Big Entertainment

| October 24, 2010

Check out the new widget I added to the sidebar! If you change pages, or refresh the page another video pops up!

Of course, they are a little small to fit in the sidebar. So…if you want to see a larger version, or perhaps another choice of video…you can click on my YouTube channels, “Chiseled in Cloth” and “Patterns2quilt“. Hope you take a minute or two to watch them!

Free halloween pumpkin mask

| October 17, 2010

Sometimes you need a last minute halloween mask, so I’ve drawn one to share.

This one has a cute pumpkin face and is ready to color. Print it on card stock, have your special child color it, cut it out, punch through the holes on the sides, tie ribbons to the mask…and your little one is ready to go!

The mask is located on my patterns website www.patterns2quilt.com. Click on the free patterns icon.

And the winner is…

Thanks for your participation!
I have a few more prototype tops I’ll giveaway in the future, so please check back.

Thoughts from SewCalGal…

| October 15, 2010

SewCalGal has finished the coursework in my recent learn to make your own quilt patterns online class and has some thoughts to share with you.

I was thrilled she took the time from her busy schedule to review the course and share her insights.

I encourage you to visit her blog and not only read her class critique, but also enjoy the other events posted on her blog.

Below are a couple of excerpts from her post.

“This class was packed full of great insights in each lesson. While this particular class is targeted towards quilters interested in making Portrait Art Quilts, I think this was actually one of the best online classes I’ve seen for photo editing.

Thus, I definitely recommend this particular class for any quilter interested in making beautiful Portrait Art Quilts, but also for those that want to learn more about photo editing tools.”

“My general impression is that Margaret’s classes are insightful and well worth the money and investment of time.

There is also an optional  57 page document that you can purchase, without taking this class (or get a 50% discount if you buy a copy when you sign up for the class).  This document is very well written, with excellent visuals.  It is an excellent source of  providing tips, instructions and inspiration on using tools to edit digital photographs for use in quilts.  It also went several steps further, in sharing insights on how to turn these beautiful photographs into quilts…award winning quilts!
This document alone is worth more than the fee of this class!”

Thanks SewCalGal!
